Sir, - The litter-strewn condition of the grass verges along both Belgard Road and the Naas dual carriageway is a disgrace.
Shame on South Dublin County Council, its councillors, its management and employees who have failed in their statutory duties to discourage litter and to clean it up. Shame also on the owners and occupiers of properties along these roads who also demonstrate a lack of civic responsibility in not carrying their duty of keeping the boundaries and footpaths outside their premises free of litter. - Yours, etc.
