Sir, - I was very glad to read Arthur Reynolds's "Irishman's Diary" (February 9th) concerning the state of holiday accommodation in Ireland. I completely agree with him. I lived, with my family, in Dublin from 1995 to 1996 and we took the opportunity to travel around the country as much as possible. The B&Bs where we stayed were all extremely nice. On the average they are among the most accommodating guesthouses that we experienced in Europe and a far cry better than the standard, impersonal motels that we have in the United States. I am looking forward to my next trip to Ireland. - Yours, etc., Prof Jay Gregg,
