Sir, - I would like to respond to Paul Delahunty's somewhat tasteless comments (August 29th). Referring to the killing of Abu Ali Mustafa, he quotes the words of Brendan Behan: "It's easy to spot the terrorist - he's the one with the small bomb.".
Whatever the rights and wrongs of a political assassination, I am quite sure that the families of those killed and maimed by bombs in civilian areas in the heart of Israel over recent months would not describe the instruments used as "small". In fact it is probable that those planning such destruction would be disappointed to hear their efforts so described.
All civilian deaths in such conflicts are huge tragedies, and I find it very insensitive of your correspondent to trivialise terrorism, or any killings, in this manner. - Yours, etc.,
Heather Abrahamson, Roebuck Lawn, Clonskeagh, Dublin 14.
