Madam, - I was taken aback by Charles Krauthammer's bullish attack on Barack Obama, which referred to his speech after the Virginia Tech massacre as "tasteless and bordering on the sacrilegious" (Opinion, April 23rd).
Not only did I find Mr Krauthammer's argument poorly thought out, but it's a bit rich for him to criticise Mr Obama for exploiting a nation's grief for his own political ends. Is he going to try and say that President Bush didn't do it on a much wider scale after 9/11 with the unjust and illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? His stance more than smacks of double standards. - Yours, etc,
