Madam, - Emer Massey's Irishwoman's Diary (April 4th) all too eloquently described the insidious desecration of the Irish countryside in the age of the Celtic Tiger.
The picture painted of her native country is one all too familiar throughout this island.
As she so rightly points out, the broadcasting of the Ryder Cup will showcase not just Kildare, but Ireland to the world. In such circumstances it is folly almost beyond belief that all bodies responsible for promoting this island have not engaged in a serious campaign to promote a cleaner, greener land. - Yours, etc,
