Sir, - I have just read a report on tourism in Co Wicklow which states that the litter situation in the county is hindering tourism and may even curtail its growth, with repercussions for jobs in the industry.
As a tourist operator, I have reported three separate incidents of dumping to both Greystones and Wicklow County Council offices approximately four times a week since the beginning of January. To date, despite platitudes, nothing has been done. If this is the tough stance Wicklow County Council has in mind for litter offenders, promised when it privatised the refuse service, I hate to think what leniency would be like. - Yours, etc.,
