Madam, - Is it the Ordnance Survey of Ireland or Clare County Council that has got it so badly wrong? Road signs for numerous towns and villages in the county are misspelt, some ridiculously so - the worst being "Ballyvaghan" instead of Ballyvaughan. It must have been confusing for the handful of tourists there last week.
My question is: did Clare County Council order and erect incorrect signage in the first place for the Ordnance Survey to copy slavishly in its Ireland Driving Map, second edition, or was it the other way round? And does anyone give a damn anyway? - Yours, etc,
