Madam, - Please, somebody prevent this madness! Surely to God we do not need to allow the Luas extension to cross or interfere with the Leopardstown roundabout. The map in your edition of June 26th shows the Luas line turning back in a dog-leg to recross the main entry road to Sandyford Industrial Estate and then recrossing three roads on the roundabout.
The line should be allowed to cut straight through the cul-de-sac on which it starts from the Sandyford stop to the stop at Central Park.
This incredible dog-leg in the track is going to cost us millions in road works over and around - or worse still through - the roundabout, fouling up the busiest roundabout in south Dublin to a point where it is utterly useless. - Yours, etc.,
MICHAEL LEE, Delgany, Co Wicklow.
