A chara, - On New Year's Eve we were treated to a fine spectacle of fireworks and local celebrations on our RTE TV screens. At their respective midnights in New Zealand, through Australia, Berlin, Paris and London brilliant and exciting fireworks displays were beamed into our sitting-rooms.
When it came to Ireland's turn, RTE beamed out the smiling face of one Pat Kenny. Happy New Year. - Yours, etc.,
