Sir, - I see from your Letters page (December 30th) that Ruth Dudley Edwards has managed to upset the Welsh. Only the Scots to go and she'll have succeeded in offending all the Celtic tribes on these islands.
Having heard her on radio during the Drumcree crisis, I formed the view that she is either very naive or dangerously selective with facts. Neither is a trait that induces me to read her writings, in the Sunday Independent or now in The Irish Times.
I should point out that she joins a list of your opinionated contributors whom I avoid, including Kevin Myers, John Waters, Nuala O'Faolain, Fintan O'Toole and Vincent Browne - and I never read your Editorials. That said, I continue to read and enjoy The Irish Times as these people contribute only a small portion of the paper, unlike the Sunday Independent where their ilk seem to dominate to the extent that it's often difficult to find a genuine, Irish-written news report. - Yours, etc., Peter Molloy,
