Sir, - In his Irishman's Diary of February 26th, Kevin Myers alluded to the former Finnish prime minister Harri Holkeri as being Scandinavian. Finland is not a Scandinavian country, nor in Scandinavia, which is a geo-political term used to describe Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
I'm surprised Mr Myers is unable to distinguish the real difference between what is Nordic and what is Scandinavian. All the more so given his name is Scandinavian, or more precisely Norwegian.
