Sir, – I have just finished reading Ian Rankin’s new Rebus novel and enjoyed Declan Burke’s review (Weekend Review, January 12th).
However, I wish to raise a very small point – Rebus drives a Saab and not an Audi.
As Sherlock Holmes said, “It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important” (A Case of Identity, 1892). Maybe Rebus is hoping to upgrade to an Audi. – Yours, etc,
