Sir, - As someone who has been waiting a long time to free himself from the yoke of Telecom Eireann, I am in the process of weighing up the alternatives.
However, I am puzzled by the behaviour of Esat Digiphone. I can't understand their insistence on the Government holding to the letter of their agreement that allows them to erect their mobile phone antennae on masts at garda stations. This is causing genuine distress to many small rural communities who are clearly motivated by a sincere belief that the health of their children is being threatened.
As a result my attitude to Esat has gone from a "warm-fuzzy feeling" to a "wouldn't-touch-with-a-barge-pole feeling". - Yours, etc., Michael Scott,
