Sir, - My dictionary has only one definition of fib - "trivial lie". Why then did Mr Reynolds, racing enthusiast, put £1m on his horse to win a mere £5,005 against a strong runner?
He could instead have challenged much weaker Irish horses in this country, at probably far more favourable odds. His reason - he did not study their form. - Yours, etc.,
