Sir, - The Government was unequivocal in its condemnation of the unauthorised taking of clients' money by National Irish Bank.
I find that condemnation somewhat sanctimonious. On the very day of the NIB revelations, the Government, by granting itself an 18 per cent pay increase, took money from its clients - the taxpayers - without their permission.
