Sir, - The plans for the centre of Bray sound fine, but is there anyone out there who has experienced the traffic in the Main Street and surrounding area, especially at rush hour, who could be happy to know that there are to be 400 cars travelling in and out of this new centre, not to mention the 650 bicycles! Perhaps a helicopter service or an underground entrance under the Main Street could also be planned to allow ease of access?
It should be considered naive of the developers to think that these buildings, especially the three and four storey blocks which are planned, will have "no visual impact" just because some of the parking is underground. Unfortunately for the residents who have homes near the centre, the visual impact will be very evident, and the traffic chaos will be most disturbing. Added to these additional traffic problems there is the planned demolition of the old building, St Cronan's, to suffer - as well as the loss of one of the few remaining green sites in Bray, namely, the Emmet Park GAA football pitch. - Yours, etc., Mareta Michael,
