Madam, - I travelled by Iarnród Éireann Commuter train from Limerick to Limerick Junction on Sunday, March 12th. On both sides of the carriage were six pictures of, presumably, celebrities, maybe nine or 10 in all. Over their heads in the pictures were listed a number of sexual activities, leaving no doubt in the mind of what they meant to convey.

They made no sense whatsoever; but they hurt the feelings of one person at least. Is this what rail travellers and the taxpayers are funding? I would like to know who funds such ads. I would hope and, I am pretty sure, they did not reflect the wishes of the Irish people.

It is high time for people to stand up and be counted and cry out loudly against such offensive material appearing in our public transport. - Yours, etc.,
