Sir, – I think Paul Linehan (July 17th) does the Duke of Wellington a great injustice by categorising him along with the Orange Order. In Ireland we remember Daniel O’Connell for Catholic Emancipation, but it was the Duke of Wellington as prime minister who delivered the Catholic Relief Act and put his reputation and life at risk to ensure equal rights for Catholics, something the Orange Order would not approve of. – Yours, etc,
