Parking Puzzle

Sir, - Conor Faughnan's article (July 31st) on the introduction of clamping in Dublin was accompanied by a photograph showing the daily occurrence of illegally parked cars outside Pearse Street Garda station. This area is the subject of remarkable forbearance by the Garda and is apparently exempt from the general restrictions placed on parking of cars in Dublin City centre. Perhaps someone at Pearse Street Garda station can tell us if we can expect to see this imaginative approach to the law replicated elsewhere in the city? - Yours, etc.,
