Sir, - We greatly value the unique role which Ireland plays in the international arena. We appreciate the outstanding contribution to peacekeeping which Ireland has made over the past 50 years in the United Nations.
We believe that now, more than ever, the world needs such non-aligned and independent voices. We urge Ireland to build on its role as global peacekeeper by remaining non-aligned militarily and outside of NATO and by developing its peacekeeping role within the OSCE. - Yours, etc.,
