Madam, – Can someone please explain why a retiring Minister receives two pensions, one for being a TD and one for being a Minister? “‘Being entitled to it”, or “Because he is worth it” are not acceptable answers. A head teacher retires on his/her pension but does not qualify for a teacher’s pension as well. Hopefully the IMF will deal with this nonsense, on our behalf, when they are doing their three-monthly check on our public service expenditure. We seem unable or unwilling to deal with it ourselves. – Yours, etc,
