Sir, - A new anti-litter campaign by the Department of the Environment and Local Government is to be applauded. But it's a shame that the posters and cinema advertisements perpetuate the myth that pigs are dirty by showing a photograph of a woman with a pig's nose beside a caption reading: "There's a side to people that littering brings out".
In reality, pigs in their natural environment are very clean animals and certainly have nothing to do with our litter problem! That is the responsibility of humans. - Yours, etc.,
