Sir, - What a preposterous remark by the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O'Rourke, (The Irish Times, July 13th) that she `'wants to see the day when happy shiny people are on happy, shiny buses, giving two fingers to the motorists". Perhaps someone should tell the Minister that normal people don't indulge in gratuitous offensive gestures - they just don't behave like politicians! One is tempted to ask, with leaders like that, who needs leadership? - Yours, etc.,
John Newman, Dublin 11.
