Madam, - Of course people are outraged at the number of patients waiting on trolleys. Of course they are incensed at the offensive remarks of a Minister of State about Turkish workers. And everybody is appalled at the lack of seatbelts on school buses and the waste of public money on e-voting.
But will the majority of people remember these events on election day? Not a chance. Why? Because we appear to suffer from a debilitating, infectious disease called "selective memory loss", apparently brought on by government promises of low taxation and general election "give-aways". - Yours, etc,
