Sir, Father David O'Hanlon's letter (April 8th) astounded me. His article (April 19th) appalled me.
Fr O'Hanlon is entitled to his view but I think it is unfortunate that he chose to make his point by resorting to rude, offensive and abusive language, which served no purpose except to bring discredit to himself and, by association, the priest food.
I would question the judgment of The Irish Times in allowing a half page of vitriol to appear and wonder what purpose it had co-operating with Fr O'Hanlon. - Yours, etc.,
