Madam, - Kerry has a lot of tourist resorts. The regulation forbidding those under 18 from being in a pub-cum-restaurant at 9pm is ridiculous. Families often come in for a drink and a meal about 8 or 8.30pm. The family is a unit. There will be children or teenagers with their parents.
The present regulation means that those under 18 must leave at 9pm and wait outside for their parents. This is not right.
The Minister for Tourism should abolish this regulation and allow visitors to stay on until 10 or 10.30pm. - Yours, etc.,
Rev PAT GRIFFIN, Waterville, Co Kerry.
