A Chara, - It is worth pointing out that there are many wooden alternatives to uPVC windows which are double-glazed, draught-proof and visually more appropriate. The main objection to uPCV windows is that they are manufactured from materials that cannot be replaced. Metals, alloys and plastics do not grow on trees. Wooden products can be replaced within a reasonable time and contribute to sustainable development practices. It can be observed that the Georgian Society fails to communicate the ecological and sustainable development arguments effectively, and is consequently viewed as a group of old-world hardship enthusiasts. The Georgian Society should argue for modern comforts and standards that celebrate previous human creativity and are sympathetic to nature. - Is mise, Proinsias Mac an Tuile,
