Sir, – I’m employed, with a family, paying my taxes and barely keeping things together with high mortgage interest rates and now rising taxes and property charges. I have an illness that is lifelong for me, but not on the offical long-term illnesses recognised by the State.
I am going to be a further €132 per month worse of than someone in the same employment, just because I was unlucky enough to get seriously ill. It might come to the stage where I won’t be able to afford my vital medication and equipment, but will be paying my way to prop up banks and keep TDs in their expenses and pensions. – Yours, etc,
