Madam, - May I thank Tomás Finn (November 6th) most sincerely for his succinct and perfectly crafted letter? I very much share his outrage and only wish more of us were equally adept at expressing it, for it truly needs to be heard. - Is mise,

Madam, - I could add to Tomás Finn's list of reasons to be angry but it would be pointless, as they are part of every aspect of our now confirmed banana republic. Our politicians are not to blame. When we re-elect again and again droves of incompetent politicians without vision we undermine the democratic process and reward failure.

We have been electing and re-electing moronic representatives at local and national level for as long as I can remember. So the next time we begin to curse our politicians, we should stop and curse ourselves first. We ourselves are the problem, not the politicians or the media and vested interests that support them.

Like Mr Finn, I think things should and can be different. I have had enough of this nonsense and want to put an end to it. Does anyone else want to build a politics based on solutions to our problems and respect for us, the people, or would you prefer to continue to support political careers and egos built on the backs of the people of this country by voting for these morons or not voting at all?
