Madam, - Niall Scott, of Scott Tallon Walker, spent "lovely summer afternoons visiting the residents in Havelock Square" (The Irish Times, October 18th) in connection with the re-vamping of Lansdowne Road rugby grounds.
I too have spent many lovely afternoons in Havelock Square, besieged in my own house - viewing, among other delights, Scotsmen lifting their skirts in order to urinate in the front garden - while, at the back, assorted youths trespassed on our property in an effort to gain access to the grounds by scaling the north terrace wall, which was also my back wall.
We could prolong these idylls by strolling out in the evening to retrieve broken pint glasses and other detritus, with a view to our children being allowed to go out and play in comparative safety. - Yours, etc,
WENDY SHEA, Brookfield Place, Blackrock, Co Dublin.
