Sir, - I was recently in the unfortunate position of having to look for a new apartment in Dublin and engaged an accommodation agency to assist with the search. I received very little help and many of the places I viewed were damp or extremely cramped. House-sharing - more often sharing a room - is fast becoming the norm.
It also struck me the agency was taking on more people than it could manage. Essentially, I was paying to compete with other clients for the available accommodation.
My final complaint regards rent control or the lack thereof. We desperately need legislation on this matter. Pray, when will the Government see fit to intervene? - Is mise,
