Madam, - A recent review showed that the moveable art in the Vatican was worth more than €2 billion. Why does Pope Benedict not sell this treasure and give the money to aid the mothers and children dying daily in Africa? Jesus, the Gospels tell us, was poor and lived an insecure life; yet Benedict and his cardinals are well clad, eat well, live in a beautiful city and are full of pomp and ceremony.
