Madam, - To Father McGillicuddy's complaint about overgrown bushes blocking road signs (February 6th), may I add another source of danger? This is the fading of lane markings on many important roads.
A prime example of this is on the busy Stillorgan Road in Dubin, the N11. In many stretches it is almost impossible to see the white lines, and therefore to know which lane one should be in. These markings should be repainted urgently to avoid the sideswiping that otherwise seems to be inevitable on dark, rainy days.
- Yours, etc,
DAVID SOWBY, Knocksinna Crescent, Dublin 18.
