Sir, - The following appears on a tag attached to a line of clothing marketed by a company in Bermuda: "Teams representing England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales compete annually in the exacting sport of rugby for the ultimate prize of the Triple Crown. Cheered on by thousands of fans, over muddy fields and invariably in foul weather, these young men seem more intent on destroying each other (or at least their clothing) that they are on scoring points. This collection proudly bears the Triple Crown logo and should you ever be unlucky enough to encounter 15 stampeding Irishmen, at least your clothing will stand up, even if you don't!"
One can only hope that England, Wales and Scotland will wear this gear in the season ahead. - Yours, etc.,
