Madam, – More than 40,000 women, in the rain, from city and county, in shorts, trainers, jog pants, hijabs, saris and wet T-shirts ran, jogged, walked and wheel-chaired the Monday bank holiday 10k, and hundreds of charities benefited.
If only we could bottle this determination, spirit, generosity and especially the good humour throughout – whether one was first or last – and swallow it, Ireland would jog out of recession in no time. United for good causes, even when the going was tough, sisters (are still) doing it for themselves. – Yours, etc,
