Madam, - I thoroughly enjoyed Frank McNally's account of his grandfather's exploits - from being a deputy sheriff in Montana's wild west to founding a Fianna Fáil cumann back home in the 1920s (An Irishman's Diary, July 11th).
I'm just wondering if this makes Frank's grandfather the first cowboy to have joined Fianna Fáil? - Yours, etc,
