Madam, - I enjoyed the clue from "Gordius" (March 14th) in homage to Crosaire's diamond jubilee. A belt of the Crozier? Very apt, very often! - Yours, etc.,
GRAHAM HORGAN,

Dublin 16.
Madam, - I would like to add my congratulations to Derek Crozier on compiling his Crosaire crossword for the last 60 years. As the headmaster of his former prep school, Castle Park in Dalkey, it is a source of pride to us that one of the school's former pupils should have achieved such a distinctive record.
On the 50th anniversary, Mr Crozier was kind enough to pay us a visit in Castle Park on our founder's day, when he told the pupils several stories about his memories of the school. I have in my possession the barograph he donated to the school when he left in 1931.
It is my understanding that he may have picked up the crossword bug from Castle Park since one of the masters of the time, a Mr Edwardes, used to bring in crossword puzzles for the pupils to complete.
Next year, the school celebrates its centenary and if Mr Crozier finds himself in this part of the world during 2004, he will be most welcome to visit us again. - Yours, etc.,
CARL COLLINGS,
Castle Park School,
Dalkey,
Co Dublin.
