Madam, - A small group of people are ruining the Internet e-mail service for the rest of us by peddling utter drivel. The time is long overdue for companies such as Eircom, Indigo, IOL, etc. to get their act together and eliminate the "spam" before it reaches our e-mail boxes. They know what we are all talking about - con artists selling sex and drugs.
I logged on last week after a break of five days to find 421 e-mails. All but 10 of these I sent to the junk box and deleted without opening. Who wants to wade through mountains of utter bullshit to read one or two respectable e-mails?
Wouldn't it be nice to log on tomorrow and find just e-mails from your friends or business contacts, and not be afraid to open e-mails for fear of getting a virus? Personally I think the Net is finished; a wonderful idea sadly ruined by a few lame individuals. Apart from a shopping tool to get things at respectable prices, it has ceased to be what it was created for. A great pity. - Yours, etc.,
