Madam, - It was interesting to read the front-page report in your Motors supplement of July 27th headed: "Speed is not the only issue on safety".
This quotes National Safety Council Chairman Eddie Shaw urging motorists to "drive at speeds appropriate to road and weather conditions".
This sound advice appears to sit uneasily with the large colour advertisement (directly beneath the article in question) in which drivers of the BMW 3 series Convertible are promised a "sheer power", "pure exhilaration", "adrenalin pumping experience" - all within the constraints of the speed limits, no doubt. - Yours, etc,
