Sir, - Prior to a driving test recently, a driving instructor informed me that to be making "reasonable progress", I should be travelling at around 33 to 35 m.p.h. in a 30 m.p.h. speed-limit zone.
What does this say about the attitude of driver testers to certain road instructions? Do some people fail if they strive to obey the speed limits? Given the substantial link between speeding and road deaths, aren't these the people who should be passing? - Yours, etc.,
Bernard Kelly,
Ailesbury Road, Dublin 4.
