A Chara, - Mr O'Donoghue asserts (October 27th) that "those who speed often drive fast and expensive cars". I would like to know the source of this information. From my observation, it seems that speeding is the domain of the "boy racer" complete with "go faster" stripes and disregard for the safety of any other road user.
I would suggest to Mr Donoghue and the gardai that if any scheme is to be implemented it should be the enforcement of existing legislation. I have been stopped for tax and insurance checks on many occasions in the past 15 years but I have never been stopped to have my tyres checked.
Here's hoping that I will see a reduction in my car tax - seeing as the roadspace available to me has been reduced with the introduction of QBC. - Is mise,
