Madam, - Congratulations on the wonderful series of photographs of wildlife by Steve Bloom in The Irish Times last week. All the posters were superb, but I've always had a fondness for colourful birds and especially liked the one of the Toco Toucan, with its long orange bill.
The prose accompanying each picture was a pleasure to read, though it was depressing to learn that the survival of almost all these magnificent creatures is threatened by the propensity of human beings to poach them, shoot them, and destroy or encroach upon their natural habitats, all for monetary gain. - Yours, etc,
