Sir, - Can anyone enlighten me as to how, in the wake of the indescribable events in Ballymoney on Sunday morning, Nuala O'Faolain is permitted to open a banner article on page three of your publication (July 13th) with the words "There's one good thing about losing three lovely little fellows to fire . . ."?
I'm afraid I couldn't see that particular silver lining even after reading an article that I would describe as misplaced and downright insensitive to the feelings of the Quinn family and anyone else on the receiving end of the sectarian hatred being stirred up by those stout defenders of civil and religious liberty in the Orange Order. - Yours, etc.,
Bill Murphy,
Foxrock Mount,
Dublin 18.
It never crossed my mind that the tone of outraged and bitter sarcasm I was attempting to strike would be misunderstood. I'm very sorry. - N.O'F.
