A chara, - I agree with Donall O Morain (November 22nd) that we should take steps to have Irish recognised "as an official language of the [European] Union - as was and is the position of all other first national languages of the other member States."
The crucial questions are, however, does the Taoiseach agree, and do his Ministers severally and jointly agree with Dr O Morain? - Yours, etc.,
