Madam, - Well, may God, St Patrick and common sense protect Tara and Co Meath from selfish ignorance so that the children's children of Tadhg Donnelly (March 28th) and of the Meath Citizens (sic) for M3 won't curse them and their likes for spoiling and endangering their own county's and our country's heritage.
Rather let their offspring get down on their knees and thank the Lord and St Patrick for the likes of Conor Newman, Joe Fenwick, Edel Breathnach and all the other archaeologists and others who know what they're talking about for so wisely and kindly giving unstintingly, and without any financial recompense mark you, of their precious time and knowledge in their efforts to save our heritage from those who will not accept that perhaps there are genuine experts who know and understand better than those "citizens" mentioned above who are selfishly thinking only for the short term.
Meanwhile, can not a compromise be arranged? Let the NRA authorities start immediately the long-promised bypasses around Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Navan and Kells, so that not only will the unfortunate "Meath Citizens" be able to quickly get some genuine relief in getting to Dublin faster, while the only really viable and acceptable alternative route (around the east side of Skryne Hill) is being built to provide them with the type of speedway they feel they must have. - Yours, etc.
ETIENNE RYNNE, Athenry, Co Galway.
