Madam, – Is it too obvious to suggest that the answer to our economic woes lies in another reduction of our corporate tax rate? The initial reduction to 12.5 per cent several years ago resulted in unprecedented foreign investment in this country. Would the same not happen again if we reduced it to 8 per cent, or 5 per cent, or to zero? Even with no corporate tax, the state coffers would soon be bulging with the taxes paid by new employees, shareholders and a much-reduced social welfare bill. – Yours, etc,
