Sir, - The announcement of an investment of £35 million for an academy for the performing arts is encouraging news. Any monetary investment by the Government in the arts is to be welcomed.
But if, as Mr Martin states, this investment is to be seen as a "radical" rethink of the place of the arts in education, why, oh why did he not begin with the "roots"? - Yours, etc.
