Sir, - I agree with Mr McCreevy giving £20 million to the GAA while giving only £3 million to people with disabilities. But why did he stop with the GAA? Why didn't he give a handout to the main organisation which encourages young people to play soccer - namely Manchester United? Isn't it very similar to the GAA in that it is a cash-rich, commercially driven organisation supported by people who are two sandwiches short of a picnic?
Why doesn't Mr McCreevy invite Alex Ferguson over for a photo opportunity to present him with his cheque for £20 million, perhaps on the steps of Portrane Psychiatric Institute? -Yours, etc.,
