Sir, - Are we seriously saying that a government is wrong to donate funds to its national sport - particularly one which has done more than any other organisation, sporting or not, in terms of providing leisure, entertainment, and place for people to meet and interact, often where no other such facilities are available. It would be impossible to put a figure on what the GAA has done for this country in these terms - although 60 million, which by the way wasn't asked for, is a paltry sum indeed for the services that GAA has been providing in every city, town and village of Ireland since its formation in 1884. - Yours, etc.,
Daniel English, New Road, Greystones, Co Wicklow.
