Sir, - We are very disappointed with the delay in holding the public inquiry on LUAS. We need LUAS to calm our areas of through traffic.
On-street LUAS would cause less pollution at point of use than either cars or buses. It would also use space more efficiently.
We like the Dublin Transportation Initiative vision of Dublin based on a European model of the urban region, with a strong city centre at the heart served by a balanced transportation system.
When the LUAS public inquiry resumes, it will be very interesting to see what the vision for Dublin is of those who query the present proposals. At this stage, we think that delaying LUAS is denying us a key element needed to enhance our capital city. - Yours, etc.,
